Official Tournament Rules
 
  1. Dates: June 1st beginning at 5:00 A.M. through August 4th ending at 7:00 P.M.

  2. ALL fish are to be weighed in at one of the following locations:
      Dog River Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Dauphin Island Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Gulf Shores Yacht Club & Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Orange Beach Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Outcast Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Reel Surprise Charter Docks: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      SanRoc Cay Marina: 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.
      Zeke's Landing Marina: 1:00 P.M. TO 7:00 P.M.

  3. IGFA Rules and Regulations will govern this tournament and will be a guideline for rules committee decisions. Click here to download I.G.F.A rules. (PDF link. Adobe Acrobat Reader required)

  4. This is an all tackle category tournament. Anglers may use any line class up to 130 lb.

  5. Single hook rigs must use circle hooks. Two hook rigs may use straight hooks with nothing larger than a #3 hook. In the interest of conservation, no stainless steel hooks are allowed.

  6. Charter Boat owners, captains and deck hands are not eligible for world record prizes. In addition, they are not eligible for any angler award while on a charter.

  7. All anglers must present ticket at time of weigh-in.

  8. All boats must start and end trip through Alabama's state waters, and not make landfall in between.

  9. All fish must be caught on rod and reel.

  10. All fish must be brought to the weigh station on the boat on which fish was caught.

  11. All fish must be weighed in on the day caught, unless caught on a 2 day trip. Anglers must have 2 tickets for 2 day trips. No longer trips qualify.

  12. Only 1 prize per angler, with the exception of the World Record.

  13. Boat registration will continue throughout the tournament. Entries received on or after June 1st must wait 48 hours to be eligible to weigh fish.

  14. The rules committee, in order to conserve resources, has set a minimum length of 24" for a red snapper to be entered.

  15. The new Ford truck is for the new world record Red Snapper weighed in during the tournament. The first fish weighed in during the tournament that sets the new world record will be the winner.

  16. Any fish entered that places becomes property of the Orange Beach Red Snapper World Championship.

  17. Any modifications to any fish to alter the weigh-in will be grounds for disqualification.

  18. All participants are subject to a polygraph examination.

  19. All fish are subject to being checked with a toro meter.

  20. Any protests must be presented in writing to a tournament committee member within 24 hours of fish in question. No protests will be accepted after 7:00pm on August 4th, 2008. Decision of the tournament rules committee is final.
